The Intelligent Provider Benchmarking Service
Opportunity to join our on-going benchmarking service for Mental Health Trusts
The Audit Commission has announced that it will no longer run its mental health benchmarking club due to the outsourcing of its in-house Audit Practice. Over 50% of mental health trusts have joined our Intelligent Provider Benchmarking Service over the past six months. This service utilises the vast knowledge of ex- Mental health Audit Commission personnel who joined Mental Health Strategies (MHS) earlier this year. Our service is vibrant, up-to-date & on-going.
Our experience in developing and delivering benchmarking services is unique in this field. This is blended with a wealth of experience and skills which MHS bring to support organisations who wish to improve their mental health services. MHS has recently won contracts to deliver national reviews of mental health PbR progress, and of the mental health provider market. We continue therefore to be at the forefront of intelligence in mental health.
Access to unrivalled mental health intelligence
Our service provides mental health trusts (including those now transformed by taking on TCS) with new comparative information to support them:
• Transform service delivery,
• Implement Payment by Results, and
• Deliver the QIPP agenda.
Quarterly reports allow trust boards to benchmark their performance against other mental health trusts
Quarterly reports provide members with performance indicators across five domains:-
• Profile of service users
• Level of resources
• Care pathways and care packages
• Productivity, and
• Quality and outcomes.
The first three reports are free
We are operating the service on a no fee basis for the first three reporting quarters of 2011/12. From quarter four you will have the option to sign up to the service for a sliding scale of annual fees starting at only £1,250 per annum.

Why should I join?
• This service provides intelligence which will help mental health trusts compare their position nationally, and a clear focus on areas which could be improved.
• The data is provided in a user friendly format which will provide evidence for the rationale for change.
• We will also update the intelligence on a quarterly basis so trusts have the timeliest evidence on which to base their decisions.
