• Modelling Capacity and Demand for mental health beds
For so long the holy grail of mental health services, we now have a valuable and robust tool for modelling the capacity and demand for mental health in patient beds. Developed in partnership with Focused_On, we worked with Bedfordshire & Luton Partnership NHS Trust and NHS Bedfordshire and Luton to review current activity and services. We then modelled the impact of service changes (from CMHT redesign to the impact of IAPT and Crisis Resolution) to arrive at a robust and evidence based model that explores a range of 'what if’ scenarios. Using patient flow planning we arrived at a set of conclusions that much more accurately predicts the future required number of beds.
