James Fitton, one of our Directors, recently gave a presentation at a conference organised by the Health Service Journal in Birmingham. The conference addressed Mental Health Commissioning, and James' presentation (these slides can be downloaded below) drew out why mental health commissioning matters, and the ways in which the tools available to commissioners (planning, purchasing and monitoring) can be used to work towards beneficial outcomes at four levels: whole systems; specific service lines and pathways; service user outcomes; and community outcomes.
