Terry trained as a Social Worker, worked in both health and social care as a practitioner and senior manager. Previous roles included: ASW; Child Protection Practitioner; Adult Services Mental Health Manager, Older Peoples Service Manager and prior to MHS Terry was the Locality Commissioning Manager (Mental Health) for South Tyneside and Gateshead PCTs, a role which also included Local Implementation Team Lead.
Terry was nominated as a National Service Development Champion and has previously worked with NIMHE to write and deliver a leadership and management development course on commissioning
Terry is a senior manager with a successful career providing a proven capability, in regard to:
• Service improvement and partnership working.
• Delivering consistent results within operational and performance management systems.
• Ability to develop sound partnerships that result in a service user and community focused approach.
• An understanding and harnessing of modern forms of procurement, to deliver high quality services.
• A leadership style that enables, enthuses and inspires others, which is based on a personal vision, enthusiasm and a commitment to make a difference.
When not at work Terry enjoys reading, photography and just spending time with the family.
