Nick Moor
RMN, RGN, PG Cert. HSM, PG Dip Law, MBA
Nick started his RMN training in 1982 at St Nicholas Hospital, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Since then he has worked in a range of different and challenging roles from clinical team management, acting Service Director, PCT mental health commissioning manager and IT Project Manager, both in England and Canada.
Nick's ability to bridge the clinical and management gap is second to none, and he has an MBA from Sheffield University. Having developed a keen interest in the legal and ethical aspects of healthcare, he has a post graduate diploma in law from Cardiff University in the Legal Aspects of Medical Practice. The majority of Nick's clinical practice was in older people's mental health care and he leads on work in this field and the dementia strategy for us.
His key work skills are:
• strategic development and planning
• modelling, capacity planning and service redesign
• training in the legal and ethical aspects of health care
• resource, quality, performance management and benchmarking
• business case development
Nick's recent projects include:
• Understanding opportunities for 'investment to save' in dementia services
• Mapping dementia services and investment
• Reviewing IAPT services
• CMHT capacity planning and redesign
Outside of work Nick is kept very busy with three teenage boys, but if ever he gets time he likes to go walking and cycling.
