Liz Smith

Liz is an extremely experienced healthcare planner who has a detailed knowledge of strategic, operational and capital planning. From the development of estate strategies and business cases to post project evaluation, Liz is skilled in the design and development process providing in-depth health planning advice. She has experience in the development of a number of acute and primary & community care facilities and has recently been involved with the Department of Health in a number of projects related to primary and social care. Liz has excellent communication skills and is an able facilitator of multi-agency groups.
Originally, Liz trained as a nurse and has extensive knowledge of acute intensive care nursing where she was an operating theatre nurse and manager. She also has operational management experience in managing day care, outpatient areas and has managed one of the Marie Curie Cancer Centres.
Liz combines her mix of clinical practice, operational management and health planning skills to work with Trusts to deliver assignments at strategic, capital and operational level with her aim of ensuring that the health and social care needs of the local population are met. Her thorough understanding of patients and staff needs provides the ability to act as an expert conduit between the clinical and design & construction teams.
Out of work Liz is a part time carer. She enjoys cooking and eating with her family as well as collecting wine and listening to music. When time permits Liz loves to exercise to maintain a modicum of fitness.
