Patient Safety, Quality and Risk – New appointment
Patient Safety, Quality and Risk is now at the top of everyone’s agenda. Recent events, alongside the advent of CQuins, and the scale of human and financial cost associated with lower quality healthcare, have pushed patient safety, quality and risk management to the forefront of commissioners and providers minds.
To help meet demand in this complex field, we have appointed Siân Wicks as Senior Consultant in Patient Safety, Quality and Risk Management, to start with us in July.
Siân comes to us with a background of 25years in the NHS. She has Masters in Medical Law and Legal Practice, Capsticks Diploma in Risk Management and is very much live on the nursing & midwifery register. She enjoys her work, as a Director with Alarm, The National Association of Risk & Litigation Managers.
Siâns recent experience includes working as a Corporate Risk Manager in a London Teaching Hospital, a Governance Lead in a District General Hospital and more recently as a Governance lead in a Foundation Trust focusing on Women & Children. Siân has very broad experience spanniong a full range of quality, safety and risk management issues in both Health & Social care. She has the ability to meet the needs of all stakeholders: Commissioners, providers, regulatory bodies and the coroner.
We are therefore now able to offer commissioners and providers a full package of support, including:
• Running SUI investigations
• Thematic reviews and ‘look back’
• Scrutiny of internal reviews
• Advice and support for system design
