Modelling Capacity and Demand for mental health beds
For so long the holy grail of mental health services, we now have a valuable and robust tool for modelling the capacity and demand for mental health in patient beds. Developed in partnership with Focused_On, we are working with Bedfordshire & Luton Partnership NHS Trust and NHS Bedfordshire and Luton to review current activity and services to model the impact of service changes (from CMHT redesign to the impact of IAPT and Crisis Revolution) to arrive at a robust and evidence based model that explores a range of ‘what if scenarios and by using patient flow planning arrive at a set of conclusions that much more accurately predicts the future required number of beds.
